Kelley was passionate about Amer- ican occupation of the Oregon country. Between 1828 and 1848 he published numerous pamphlets promoting the set- tlement of Oregon. Kelley’s adoration and promotion of the Oregon Country was nearly equivalent to that of Aimee and our Conference committee encourage- ment of your attendance at the upcoming Image 1 Image 2 conference. July–August, 2014: Venture south to Tu- alatin and visit the Meridian monument at Browns Ferry Park. A short stroll from the parking lot along the Tualatin River brings you to the meridian line and the interpre- tive monument. Spin the globe to find the meridian and then venture out on a short drive north where you can also visit the Willamette Stone State Heritage Site. September–October, 2014: If you don’t have time to check out the meridian monument and the Willamette Stone then just hop on the Max red line from the conference site and venture down- town to Chapman and Lownsdale Square.
