6 The Oregon Surveyor | Vol. 41, No. 3 From the PLSO Office Aimee McAuliffe PLSO Exec. Secretary It has most definitely been a year of visible change with the direction of our marketing. The last few months we have been working hard on updating the Guide to Selecting a Land Surveyor and other materials to be used in promoting the profession to the public and more. Soon we will be printing and getting materials out to county offices, members, job fairs, etc. T his time of year, I usually start chat- ting you up through this column and email to renew your member- ship, which needs to happen by July 1. Some of you will question our value to your career. After all, what other time of year do you hear from me? My answer would be a minimum of once a month if you’re reading your PLSO Enewslet- ter. Twice every other month if you’re also reading The Oregon Surveyor magazine (if this is your first time reading— welcome). If you attend the Conference I’m there Live and In Person, walking amongst you, making sure the food gets delivered on time and the speaker that forgot to check his contracted start time starts running from the parking garage. If you’re part of a committee or Board of Directors, then you hear from me quite a bit. You see more about what PLSO is Where Did the Time Go? 12 3 9 6
