18 Vol. 41, No. 1 The Oregon Surveyor | PLSO Conference Thank you to the following companies for supporting Professional Land Surveyors of Oregon Fundraising Highly Successful By Gary Johnston T he 2018 conference achieved many successes, with the auction and some new fund raising efforts being particu- larly noteworthy. PLSO’s annual auction brought in a total of $21,494. When this was combined with results of two raffles, a new special appeal, and miscellaneous donations, the total revenue from all fundraisers was $34,749. Some funds were designated specifically for outreach or for the scholarship fund. Monies that were not designated are to be allocated by decision of the PLSO Board after their meeting on March 17. A full report of fund dispersals will be provided shortly thereafter. None of this would be possible without the full support of ven- dors and members who charitably donated quality items to the auction, plus those individuals who graciously supported the new fund raising efforts. Many generous participants contrib- uted to the success of all events. Special recognition goes to Robert Hamman and Daren Cone for their initiative to promote raffles of a Henry Rifle and a Ducks Unlimited knife set. Also, extra credit goes to Aimee McAuliffe for promoting a Special Appeal on behalf of PLSO outreach. These new efforts were well received and added significantly to proceeds at the conference. Similar items are likely to be offered again in 2019, so stay tuned!  x
