Professionals and surveyors support that mission by providing a spatial reference frame for scientists and wildlife managers and by maintaining the boundaries of National Wildlife Refuges. In this presentation, I will focus on control networks and mapping projects that have been carried out on Refuges in Oregon and Idaho. Also I will describe the destruction of fences and boundary evidence at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns, and how land surveyors are helping to protect the Refuge’s resources. Update to the Oregon Coordinate Reference System (OCRS) and the addition of projection zones to cover eastern Oregon. The Oregon Surveyor | Vol. 38, No. 6 12 2. Update on GRAV-D (Gravity for the Redenition of the American Vertical Datum) and its role in dening the new vertical datum by 2022. e geoid that will help dene the new datum will be based on gravity data from existing satellite, terrestrial, and marine gravity sources and the new GRAV-0 airborne gravity data. 3. General NGS update on progress toward the new geodetic reference frame slated for 2022.
