18 www.pagd.org PAGD news PAGD Gets Off to a Fresh Start with New Dentist Conference PAGD convened its first-ever New Dentist Conference in March 2019. Its name notwithstanding, the New Dentist Conference gathered an eclectic mix of dentists in different practice settings and career stages. Residents, students, new practice owners, corporate practice dentists, dental teams, veteran practitioners looking for new talent: All were present and all participated in making this an exciting inaugural event. Dr. Ron Kaminer started the festivities with Optimizing Workflow Through New Techniques and Technologies. He covered his favorite restorative materials and technologies that will helpfully make everyone’s jobs easier. Attendees then got some hands-on time with some of those technologies at the Technology Showcase. Saturday concluded with a surprise murder mystery reception live with local performers. Sunday’s half day featured Dr. Paul Goodman of University of Pennsylvania and Dental Nachos fame presenting on New Dentist Decision Making for Success in Private Practice. PAGD PEAK II Mastertrack Gathers in Lancaster The 2019 PAGD Annual Meeting and Spring PEAK II Meeting convened in May in Lancaster. As the standard for these meetings, the group heard great presentations from their colleagues and some of the industry’s veteran speakers, and even had some fun along the way. Thursday started with a full day of presenters from PAGD members on what they have learned and implemented since the last meeting. The group then enjoyed a gourmet meal and tales of cooking for heads of state from former White House chef John Moeller at the Greenfield Restaurant. On Friday, Dr. Lou Graham presented Diagnostically Driven Technologies, followed by the President’s Dinner, where outgoing President Ann Hunsicker-Morrissey was honored, and incoming board members were sworn in. Saturday and Sunday featured PEAK favorite Dr. Bob Lowe on The Aesthetics of Occlusion and Clinical Treatment Planning and Problem Solving.
