OTA Dispatch Issue 3, 2020

30 Oregon Trucking Associations, Inc. Oregon Truck Dispatch TMC Update The trucking industry as a whole is considered “essential,” but we’d like to take a moment to specifically thank the people that keep our trucks safe and moving—the diesel technicians! It’s not always easy to perform diagnostics on equipment in the bay or on the road, as we’ve seen up close at previous SuperTech competitions. It takes a certain level of skill, talent, and a lot of patience to do it right. ATA announced an official National Technician Appreciation Week—September 21–25 , and it’s the perfect time to celebrate your maintenance team that week. Thank you, technicians! OTA launched a website for the maintenance side of trucking and plans to expand this offering with a newsletter and more for technicians and maintenance managers. Visit www.dieseltechnw.org for information, and please pass it onto your crew so they can get added to our list for relevant news and other updates. If you haven’t already heard—our Maintenance Fair is scheduled for September 25 in Lake Oswego, OR. Be a sponsor and show off your products and services during the vendor fair at the event! Register now at www.ortrucking.org/events. OTA COUNCIL Updates SMC and TMC Classes have been suspended until further notice. Please check our publications and event calendar for any updates at www.ortrucking.org/events. Please contact OTA with any questions regarding TMC and SMC events: info@ortrucking.org . SMC Update  September 13–19 is officially National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) , and we are more excited than ever to celebrate our essential drivers! They have been on the front lines delivering everything we need during this world-wide crisis, and will continue to do so even when this is all over. Thank you, truck drivers! Our largest annual safety-focused event, OTA’s Annual Safety Conference, will be held in Eugene, OR October 7–9 and registration is open! Sponsorships are available.
