Contact info@ortrucking.org Special Holiday Delivery to “Portland’s Living Room” with help from Redmond Heavy Haul & NessCampbell Redmond Heavy Hauling, an OTA member, transported a 75-foot Douglas fir Christmas tree (donated by Stimson Lumber) to Pioneer Courthouse Square from Gaston, OR this past holiday season. The haul took three days and two semis—one for the tree, and one for additional branches that were re-attached on-site. Another OTA member, NessCampbell Crane & Rigging, positioned the tree using their 40-ton Link-Belt HTC8640 hydraulic crane that took about two hours. The company has been providing this service for over 20 years. This is yet another reminder of all the goods the trucking industry delivers—for necessity and fun. Over 20,000 people, including Santa, attended the event. Glostone’s 2020 Trucking Safety & Compliance Conference NW OTA was invited to host a booth at member, Glostone Trucking Solution’s annual training event in Clackamas, OR. Staff got a chance to chat with members and not yet members of OTA about our events and training classes, consulting services, and other member benefits. Our President & CEO, Jana Jarvis, provided a brief overview of the 2019 legislative session and what to expect in 2020. Thank you to the Glostone team for letting us partake in the event! One of our Oregon-based members, Nick Card with Combined Transport, was accepted into the Lead ATA program for 2020. The group meets four times during the year to get a better understanding of the regulatory and legislative process, develop their network, enhance their leadership and management skills, and learn more about American Trucking Associations (ATA) and the trucking industry it represents. OTA has other member companies currently enrolled, including FedEx Ground, YRC Worldwide, and UPS, and had other members complete the program in previous years. Lead ATA Program
