31 www.ortrucking.org Issue 2 | 2019 Truck Driver Appreciation Week Remember that September 8–14, 2019 is Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW)! While we like to celebrate our drivers all year, this is a great opportunity to recognize the individuals that move our economy. We rely on truck drivers for food, clothing, entertainment, medication, and even shelter. There aren’t very many products or components of products that haven’t at some point traveled in a truck. “If you bought it, a truck brought it,” is just one of the many sayings that imply that trucking is the lifeblood of our economy. You may want to incorporate milestone achievements during NTDAW or offer events to help everyone at your company thank the truck drivers. Some of our members offer giveaways, free lunches, media shout-outs, or even simple thank you cards. Don’t be afraid to get creative. How will you be celebrating?
