Oregon Truck Dispatch EVENTS 67th Annual Convention Sunriver Resort | Sunriver, OR | September 24–26, 2018 OVER 120 OTA MEMBERS were greeted with sunny weather and a gorgeous display of trucks at Sunriver Resort during our Annual Convention this year. The first day OTA on-boarded new committee members and held highly productive committee discussions on how to grow OTA’s membership and programs, how current policies are affecting the industry, how to effectively engage members with each other and with association efforts, and how to improve the state of the trucking industry. During the event, over 15 speakers presented on topics like blockchain technology in the transportation sector, organizational leadership, the state of the economy, mergers and acquisitions, the election, and new trucking technology. Members got to network with speakers from FMCSA, ATA, members of the legislature and with other trucking industry colleagues, including some new members. The first night, OTA hosted a diverse allied showcase with our sponsors and a Chairman’s Reception to help break the ice. The following day, many attendees took part in new breakout class sessions on marijuana policy, generational management, training tactics, and sexual harassment prevention in between the group sessions, while others participated in the optional golf tournament. Although we witnessed plenty of golf team camaraderie, Roger Alley (Blue Line Transportation), John Huggins (KPD Insurance), Bart Sherman (Sherman Bros. Trucking), and John Barnes (TEC Equipment) were the final winners.
