I urge you to take that belief in what we do and get involved! Make an effort to make a difference. As individuals we may have very little time or money to spare—to the point where we think we can’t make a difference. That, however, is the beauty of our association. It’s a team effort and we don’t want anyone sitting on the bench if they want to be in the game. Sports analogies aside, your support is what matters. OTA has a laundry list of ways to get involved in our activities–just explore our website for ideas. Beyond that, I encourage you to come up with your own means and methods to promote what our industry has accomplished. These can be simple things within your own company— recognize your safe drivers or promote a workplace health program. You can also get involved with nationwide efforts, such as helping with disaster recovery. Whatever it is, be sure to make note and help OTA tell your story! Many of the topics I talked about here are covered more thoroughly in this issue in The Dispatch. On a final note, I’d like to invite our members, non-members and other industry supporters to the 5th Annual Southern Oregon Membership & Industry Mixer. This is our first official event of 2018 and is always a terrific way to catch up with colleagues, meet new counterparts and learn more about what OTA has in store for the year ahead. Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends!
