We were hosted by the American Trucking Association who held a reception and an orientation for us and presented us with data demonstrating the importance of taking the time to communicate with our legislators. Again the jury is out about how effective we may have been in presenting our views, however, as quoted by Thomas Jefferson and included in ATA’s orientation materials, we know and believe the following: “We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.”
