great resources available to all physicians in Oregon, no matter how remote. It’s an honor and privilege to represent the OMA and be part of the voice for better medicine in Oregon. I look forward to connecting with my peers in urban and rural Oregon this year to help ensure that small town medicine continues to be visible. And for those considering a rural practice, I’d be happy to talk to you about the many benefits of working and raising your children in a small community, where everyone knows your name and how to make a connection.  Dr. Nancy Hutnak is the new president of the Oregon Medical Association. She is also an emergency medicine doctor in Baker City, Oregon, and is affiliated with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. She received her medical degree from A. T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for 31 years. She is one of 55 doctors at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center who works in Emergency Medicine.
