2020 Oregon Long Term Care State Report www.ohca.com 3 Long Term Care 101 Long term care is a continuum of services and supports, including health care, social services, and housing, provided to individuals living with chronic conditions or disabilities that affect their ability to perform activities of daily life. In Oregon, this continuum of care is provided through settings that allow Oregonians to maintain their dignity, independence, and autonomy within safe environments. The continuum includes in-home care; senior retirement housing; community-based care communities (assisted living, residential care, and memory care); and skilled nursing facilities.
