Prior to the Task Force, the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) addressed issues identified by the Task Force. There was a 2% increase in reim- bursement rates for dental providers, and reinstatement of the fluoride varnish code for dental providers. These two actions con- tribute to reduce the incidence of tooth decay among Medicaid children. The Office of Oral Health and the New Mex- ico Human Services Department are recep- tive to any other recommendations or strategies to implement the recommenda- tions identified at the end of the report.
