CNGA LooseLeaf Aug/Sept 2019

Colorado Nursery & Greenhouse Association 959 S. Kipling Pky. #200 Lakewood, CO 80226 We are in the midst of a great season, and as you know, it can be hard to get away from the desk or the greenhouse to have time for any- thing else! While we’re busy, we tend to forget about anything outside of the business. Don’t forget about opportunities in the community and the industry, as well as setting your business up for next year’s suc- cess. There are many opportunities for networking with fellow CNGA members happening soon! Join a fun group of people for a relaxed time together at one of the Member BBQs: • Thursday, August 15 – Denver City Greenhouses/Denver Zoo • Thursday, August 29 – Dutch Heritage Gardens, Larkspur • Friday, September 6 – Sage Creations Organic Farm, Palisade • Thursday, October 3 – Trees of Corrales, Corrales, New Mexico For the younger crowd, the Young Hort Professionals Happy Hour will happen later this summer, with the date and location in Fort Col- lins to be determined soon. The annual Plant Walk is scheduled for Thursday, September 19 at Regis Arboretum on the Regis University campus in Denver, Colo. The Women in Horticulture Luncheon is Thursday, October 10 at its popular location, Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood, Colo. Another fun chance to network and a great way to support the foun- dation is CHREF’s Annual Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be on Monday, September 23 at The Dunes at Riverdale Golf Course in Brighton, Colo. Registration is open and information can be found at coloradonga.org . Plus, the Horticulture Leadership Retreat is Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at the Beaver Creek Park Hyatt. Now is also a great time to be thinking about next year’s employees and interns. Registration is open for the Fall Career Fair at CSU. Meet a diverse group of students, many of whom are majoring in horticul- ture and are past CHREF scholarship recipients. You can find registra- tion information at career.colostate.edu/handshake.
