Hotels are built by people, around people, and for people—in other words, people are important. While some believe that the guests are the most important part of a hotel, in our eyes, it’s the employees that make the magic happen day-in and day-out. Despite the challenges we faced in 2020, employees in hotels across the state continued to shine and outperform even the greatest expectations—they organized support drives for coworkers, they opened their doors to strangers in need, and they saved lives (both figuratively and literally). During the 2020 Stars of the Industry Awards ceremony, CHLA made an opportunity to celebrate the most essential parts of hotel families—the employees. Many of the recognized employees did not act for the recognition, but simply out of desire for excellence. The CHLA Team recognizes these employees and thanks them for their hard work, courageous acts, and general fortitude.
