The Fairmont San Francisco strives to exemplify Fairmont Hotels & Resorts efforts in hospitality industry sustainability initiatives through internal efforts, education and participation in numerous eco-minded practices throughout the Bay Area. The Fairmont San Francisco, the brand’s flagship property, not only supports corporate environmental initiatives, but also spearheads several statewide and local eco-minded projects. The hotel continues its commitment to meeting and exceeding guest expectations while incorporating operational sustainability and responsible tourism. The Fairmont San Francisco presents both its guests and employees with a variety of eco-minded offerings including: ƒ Fairmont San Francisco Honey Beehives: Utilizes honey directly from four beehives installed on the hotel’s rooftop culinary garden (there since June 2010) in an effort to help support the bee population, which has decreased by 90 percent since the 1980s.
