That’s why hewants to see that approach advanced as newgenerations launch their road- way safety careers andwhy he quickly agreedwhen asked to serve on the Young Industry Professionals Task Force. ATSSA launched the Young Industry Professionals (YIP) program during the Association’s 49th Annual Conven- tion & Traffic Expo. The mission is to engage individuals under age 40 in the roadway safety infrastructure industry. The program’s task force currently has 11members, includ- ing Nunez who is vice president of operations for Traffi- cade Service Inc., anArizona-based traffic control company. Nunez is president of the ATSSA Arizona Chapter. When he was approached about serving on the YIP task force last February, he was happy to help the Association in its efforts to continue growth by working with young indus- try members. “As I was already working closely with the Arizona chap- ter, the offer to help on an additional level appealed to me,” Nunez said. “As this program takes off, it will provide an early stage to get young generations involved and get a head start on learning what ATSSA is about.
