American Traffic Safety Services Association 6 ATSSA News During the event, David Rush of the Vir- ginia Department of Transportation, and former ATSSA Director of Communica- tions JimBaron were recognized for their work in establishing NWZAW as a na- tional event and were presented with plaques to honor their commitment to work zone safety. Go Orange for safety ATSSA was ready for Go Orange Day, with all of the staff members donning shirts in bright orange and a message promoting work zone safety and this year’s NWZAW theme— “Drive Like You Work Here.” Several organizations also participated in NWZAW and the “Go Orange Chal- lenge,” an online campaign encouraging participants to wear orange and spread the word about Go Orange Day and NWZAW. ATSSA chapters across the country held events to support NWZAW, including New England, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Mexico. During NWZAW, the ATSSA NewMexico chapter was presented with a procla- mation fromLieutenant Governor Howie Morales. Additionally, the National Lieu- tenant Governors Association passed a resolution to recognize April 8–12, 2019 as NWZAW. Next year’s NWZAW will be April 20–24, 2020. The 2020 national kickoff event will be hosted by the Michigan Department of Transportation, April 21, 2020.  ATSSA’s President & CEO Roger Wentz served as emcee for the NWZAW national kickoff event in Washington, D.C. ATSSA staff donned Go Orange Day t-shirts to support NWZAW and work zone safety.
