Georgia Chapter Other Winners (left to right): AJ Gartin, Troy Nielsen, and JD Cox During the most recent Georgia chapter meeting, members voted for Scott Schulman of 3M Transportation Safety Divi- sion as the next president-elect, with his term starting in September 2018. Chapter Secretary Rick Brockman presented an update on the 2019 ADA Products Demonstration Rodeo hosted by the chapter on Jan. 16 at the Georgia Department of Transpor- tation (GDOT) Central Office. A “GDOT State of the State” update was presented by John Hibbard, GDOT operations division director, who spoke about the Major Mobility Investment Plan. Also, during the meeting Frank Flanders of the GDOT Office of Design Policy and Support covered testing and evaluation criteria for roadside safety hardware and Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) implementation. Former ATSSA Innovation Council Chair Scott Covington spoke to attendees about work zone ITS architecture and various hardware and software elements that can be com- bined in a system to achieve the deployment goals and com- mon types of systems from dynamic merge, queue warning, travel time, and delay time to trucks entering and exiting. The chapter spring meeting will be held at 15 Kennedy Drive, Forest Park, Georgia, on March 21, 2019.
