Visit www.atssa.com/Chapters for more information. Arizona Chapter The Arizona ATSSA chapter met at the Maricopa County De- partment of Transportation (DOT) in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sept. 18, 2018. There were 31 people in attendance. Doug Montgomery from the City of Phoenix and Craig Bris- bois from the City of Mesa spoke during the meeting. Mont- gomery discussed the components of right-of-way manage- ment, changes to their traffic barricade manual, and shared The California Chapter of ATSSA met in Irvine, California, at the Oak Creek Golf Club for a chapter meeting and golf tour- nament event. There were 31 people in attendance. The chapter sponsored two guest speakers to discuss the Prop 6 initiative and what members can do to prevent it from passing in the November 2018 election. Prop 6 would elim- inate funding for more than 6,500 local bridge and road safet y and transpor tation improvement projects in California. Chris Lee, associate legislative representative for the Cali- fornia State Association of Counties, discussed the $130 billion reminders pertaining to traffic control for construction and special events. Since the adoption of the City of Mesa’s new Temporary Traffic Control Manual, Brisbois said there have been some implementation challenges, but also some no- table successes. The next Arizona chapter meeting will be held on March 19, 2019 at the Arizona DOT in Phoenix, Arizona. California Chapter shortfall with $73 billion needed in cities and counties. The next meeting will be held in April 2019 in conjunction with Caltrans’ annual Workers Memorial event in Sacramen- to, California. The CAL-ATSSA chapter recently met for a chapter meeting and golf tournament. During the meeting, guest speakers spoke about the defeated Prop 6 ballot measure that would have negatively impacted roadway safety infrastructure funding.
