Accomplishments Report 2018 11 Training In Williamsburg, Virginia, ATSSA welcomed more than 50 master instructors and corporate trainers to the Annual Instructor Meeting, held in conjunction with the Midyear Meeting. ATSSA Training looks back at a year of accomplishments In 2018, ATSSA achieved a number of accomplishments that gave people across the United States the opportunity to receive training on how to properly set up and run work zones and how to keep roadways safe during construction. Some achievements include: • 50,000 students took classroom training; • 42,000 obtained certifications; • 6,500 were trained online; • Working with theMinnesota Department of Transportation to become a provider of Traffic Control Technician and Traffic Control Supervisor training; • Developing a Minnesota-specific Field Manual training course; • Developing a South Carolina Advanced training course; • Training a total of 18 new instructors, including seven new Corporate Training Partners; • Growing education offerings at ATSSA’s Annual Convention & Traffic Expo; • Updating the Flagger Workbook and the Flagger Handbook; • Partnering with FailSafe-ERA on the Right Road Job Training and Placement Program; • Launching the Call for Proposals for the Safer Roads 2020 International Conference; • Hosting over 50 master instructors and corporate trainers at the Annual InstructorMeeting in conjunctionwith ATSSA’s Midyear Meeting; and • ATSSA’s Director of Training Jessica Scheyder accepting an invitation to serve on a Next Generation Advisory Council, a “think tank” for associations in crisis, observing decline, managing an aging membership/workforce.
