The Experience Camps are places for children to laugh, cry, play, create, make friends and cope with the grief caused by the loss of a loved one. “While The Foundation will continue the Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program for higher education dreams, this additional program is geared to children who are left with heartache when a loved one is killed in a work zone,” Foundation President Tom Wood, of Sherwin-Williams, said. “The Foundation’s board of directors wanted to provide an outlet for youngsters to spend a week with other children and, perhaps, build lifelong bonds and happy memories as a result.” The Foundation has created the Experience Camps Travel Scholarship to cover 100 percent of the travel expenses for children to attend these free summer camps. “Experience Camps is proud to partner with such an incredibly dedicated organization such as ATSSA,” Experience Camps Associate Director, Josh Hahn, said. “Their desire to connect eligible children with a program such as Experience Camps is a testament to their commitment to their members and families, especially in times of crisis and tragedy.”
