ANA\C The Nursing Voice Summer 2019
anacalifornia.org . 5 Standing Together: Advocating for the Future of Nursing Courage, advocacy, and strength are words I would describe my vision for ANA California as we move forward with a new Board of Directors. The new board convened on May 18 and was sworn in as leaders of the organization for the next two years. We welcome Janette Moreno, DNP, RN, CCRN-K, NEA-BC, the Director of Professional Development and Clinical Education at Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry, LPCH Children’s Hospital Stanford Health Care, as our new Membership Director and Robyn Nelson, PhD, MSN, RN, the Dean of the College of Nursing at West Coast University as the Education Director. I would like to express our deep appreciation to Mary Ann McCa- rthy, EdD, CNS/NE, RN, PHN, the past Education Director and Tanya Davis BSN, RN, PHN, the past Membership Director, for their service the past two years. They helped create an environ- ment for leaders to thrive and members to become involved with the organization. I truly appreciate Phillip M. Bautista, BSN, RN, PHN and the wealth of knowledge and years of board service he brings to being our new Vice President. Our initial goal is to travel throughout the state to really hear from our membership. We will be increasing the number of RN Lobby Days in Sacramento as well as varying the quarterly board meeting locations throughout the state. We look forward to years of advocating for California RNs and the future of our nursing profession.
